Nancy Langat African 1500m Champion Print

After winning Cinque Mulini last February, Nancy Jebet Langat, 1500m Olympic Champion, won the title of African Champion in 1500m competition at the 17th CAA African Athletics Championships with an incredible final sprint. Nancy Langat is the unchallenged queen of 1500m.

Richard Kipkemboi Mateelong (KEN), who placed second at last Cinque Mulini, won the title of new African Champion in 3000 steeplechase competition at the 17th CAA African Athletics Championships in a time of 8:23.46.

Any other athlete could face Matelong in this race that has always been dominated by Kenian athletes: Richard has been leading the whole competition defeating the Olympic Champion Ezekiel Kemboi, who arrived second.

 

 
Bogale wins 1500m World Juniot Title Print

The Ethiopian Tizita Bogale, who placed second at the 78th Cinque Mulini after the Olimpic Champion Nancy Langat (KEN), won the 1500m race at the World Junior Championships in Moncton, Canada, last Sunday. Bogale after dominating her semifinal, proved the stronger in the finishing straight to produce a PB 4:08:06.

Bogale's victory is the first for the country since Abedech Nigussie's success a decade ago: "This is my first time competing at the Championships and I'm delighted to have won it" - said Bogale - "The race was very competitive. There was a fierce struggle for the win and I am happy to withstood all that."

 

 

 

 
Franco Malerba is the new US Svo 1906 President Print

The U.S. San Vittore Olona 1906 has elected its new President, Franco Malerba, son of Giovanni, who created one of the eldest Cross Country in the world in 1933. Franco has always been part of the Cinque Mulini OC cooperating to the success of this race, that will celebrate its 79th edition on 5th and 6th February 2011, in a two day meeting rich in exciting events.
